It’s a grey and chilly Sunday here in London, but that means
it’s a perfect day to curl up with a hot tea, blanket and catch up on your
correspondence.
What? You mean you don’t handwrite letters anymore?
Okay, so many would call me old fashioned, but I think there
is nothing better than a handwritten note or letter from a loved one. It’s such
a very personal ten minutes that they have spent, writing to you, by hand, thinking
of only you, taking the time to number the pages, hunt out your postal address
and search the house of a stamp to send it with.
Would you recognise your best friend’s handwriting? Your
sister or brother’s? Your cousin’s?
For most of us, the answer is sadly, no. Isn’t that a sad
state of affairs? You miss out on a whole side to someone who you would claim
to know deeply. You can read thought processes, personality traits and most
importantly love and care all through someone’s handwriting.
Let’s all write MORE! J
To inspire you to write to your Great Auntie, a good friend
currently living abroad, or to your young cousin who has just started their
half-term holiday boredom, here is the new Iris & Evelyn writing paper…
Beautifully simple, and reminiscent of nature’s summer glory as we
plough into autumn, with a touch of Jack Frost, starting to nip at our toes.
