Making.

Every spare minute has been occupied recently making things for Christmas.

I expect you have been doing the same.

Making by hand isn't massive in my family. I suppose we have been absorbed into the materialistic behemoth that is now a commercial Christmas. But I am on a one woman mission to bring back an appreciation of time spent rather than money spent in my family....

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I have made some little hand decorated and made notebooks for shopping lists, to do lists and all sorts of other things lists...

(sorry for the light switch!)

Shopping list notebook with a lovely beetroot - I love beetroot!

I also put together some Christmas drawstring bags out of a collection of Christmas fabric fat quarters I had. I have bought a collection of little things for some people and these keep them all together, and looking quite festive, I think.

I hand-stitched them. It didn't take too long. I don't have a sewing machine, and honestly, me and machinery do not usually work well together, so I'm probably better off hand sewing. I also find it quiet meditative.

A little bit of a change. My sister's birthday is on Christmas day, so I made this little embroidery to put up so everyone remembers that it is her special day too.

It is my first foray into embroidery of this kind. I really enjoyed it. It is a great, quick craft activity which has a great impact.

I hope you are still having fun making everything just so for your friends and family as we continue the build up to Christmas.

Have a lovely afternoon.
