Birthday Wishes.

A little bit of a departure from my usual muse of the flora and fauna, but this birthday card was made with a particular lady in mind. She is a lady with an eye for fashion and the simply beautiful. I will introduce you further on Saturday.

I enjoyed the simplicity of working in black and white. It was strangely liberating if a little scary to go for it in black ink. My heart is full of colour, and I know this to be my home, but I am thinking of doing a series of female forms in black and white as a bit of a challenge to myself.

What do you think? Should I give it a go?

I added a sweet and truthful quote on the inside. I love Roald Dahl, he has many a nugget of wisdom in his wonderful books.

So, have good thoughts ladies and gentleman....it's the best way to look lovely!

  1. I love the graphic quality of your illustrations - the simplicity is beautiful. Do you sell your cards/illustrations online at all? I'm a sucker for hand illustrations on cards - they're so much more authentic and meaningful.
I say experiment with the black and white :)

  2. Hi Erin,
Thank you very much, you're very sweet and I totally agree with hand illustrations being more special. I am hoping to sell my designs online soon - I will be sure to announce it on the blog when I get all my designs together :-)
I love your blog, your ethics and lifestyle.
    Have a great week!
