On Sunday I went to watch my Dad run a 5k for Movember at
Battersea Park.
There were 800 runners from regular runners, runners in
fancy dress, to families walking the 5k together.
And all of them, pretty much all of them…
…were wearing a moustache.
The Movember Foundation encourages men to grow a moustache
throughout the month on November, hence Movember. They raise money to raise
awareness about Men’s health issues, in particular testicular and prostate
cancer, and to fund research in to those two cancers.
It’s a great organisation.
It was quite a competitive race at the front, the youngsters
were definitely given those old enough to grow a moustache a run for their
money, racing right to the line.
My Dad did really, really well. You got a snazzy Movember
silver foil at the finish.
We walked home from Battersea….
Autumn is still showing us its golden and ruby wonder…
The barbeque was unfortunately, not open.
Happy Movember and well done to all the runners and the
money raisers.
